Performance Enhancements For Highly Filled
Fillers are used in polymer in many ways to improve properties or reduce cost. A wide range of various different fillers are available to the processor. nearly all the matrix properties (e.g. mechanical properties, flammability and thermal behavior) can be influenced in a targeted manner by the use of suitable fillers. The challenge for the compounder is that the resulting compounds, particularly those with high filler levels, are difficult to process and that the overall mechanical properties are negatively affected. The cause of this often lies in a suboptimal dispersion of the fillers or in the use of non-optimized processing aids or other additives when pigmented masterbatches and fillers compounds are produced, negative side effects e.g. Agglomeration of pigments and filler can occurs. This leads to poor filler pressure values, low color strength, black spots and poor physical in the final part.
TLPA-1011 (masterbatch) is a high efficient processing additive which provides:
improved pigment / filler dispersion
improved filler pressure value, higher throughput
improved viscosity behavior (mvr)
universal usage
strong correlation betwwen lap and production color matching
TLPA-1011 has a melting range and works in two steps:
First step
The low melting portion gives fast wetting and low melt viscosity. This strongly reduces the compacting of pigments and mineral filler in the first cycle of the extrusion process. TLPA-1011 adsorbs onto the pigment and filler surface, which leads to more homogenous disapersion.
The Second step
the higher melting fraction reduce the melt viscosity of the masterbatch or compound during the extrusion process. this result in an improved processing
